What is the purpose of this job?

The purpose of this role is to develop and manage the delivery of a joined-up national marketing plan to deliver national marketing strategic objectives, national product revenue targets (including Railcard products) and key KPIs across all campaign and project activities.

What can I expect to do in this job? 

  1. Accountable for the development and delivery of the annual integrated marketing plans combining the national campaign, Railcard, national product and project specific campaign activity to meet agreed KPIs.
  2. Lead the RDG marketing team to ensure alignment and efficient delivery across the various workstreams to meet commercial and campaign objectives.
  3. Ensure a robust measurement and evaluation framework is in place across all activity.
  4. Manage marketing budgets, including campaigns and project spend, and identify opportunities for efficiencies and/or optimisation of spend.
  5. Working across industry to secure support from key stakeholders and ensure alignment of activity across industry partners.

 



Requirements
  • Significant experience at a senior Marketing level leading an effective team through planning, delivery and evaluation.
  • Proven experience of developing and delivering strategic marketing plans utilising the full marketing mix.
  • Ability to collaborate, manage, influence and motivate across organisational boundaries.
  • Commercial acumen, excellent negotiation and communication skills. 
  • Desirable
  • Knowledge of or experience working in the rail industry
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with proven track record of management of large budgets.
  • Ability to challenge convention and understanding of how the different capabilities can be harnessed to support overall business objectives.
